I have written this poem merely for the sake of practice. It is
neither articulate enough to be what I would consider a true poem, complete
with the passion which I am so well known for, nor is it hateful enough
to form fit even my worst enemy.
I know that pride controlled me
As shamelessly I ran to you
I ask only that you hold me
Until my strength can admit we’re through
They want nothing less than my happiness
They insist that we must remain apart
I’ll love you even though we may never touch again
I’ve more than played my part.
I’ve missed your body close to mine
your sultry passionate kiss
I need for us to be one once more
In the sweat of this lovers bliss.
You think I’ve forfeited all regard for you
Lost faith in our affair completely
You couldn’t be more wrong in believing these lies
I beg that you trust me beseechingly.
I need the kindness of your Indian eyes
I long for the comfort of your smile
To have you here can only begin to silence
My noisome uncertainties for a while.
I’ve missed your body close to mine
Your sultry passionate kiss
I need for us to be one once more
In the sweat of this lovers bliss.
